Card Challenge #3

I’ve always had trouble when it comes to making cards for men/boys: it’s not so bad when you know the person you’re making it for because then you can tailor the card to suit them; but when it comes to making a generic ‘masculine’ card options always seem quite limited. With this in mind I decided I’d make some cards for men.

I took inspiration from the current challenge on Case This Sketch:-

I also recently joined ‘The Male Room‘ group on facebook and they also had a challenge going on their blog; this fortnight it’s ‘Anything Goes’.

I really love this Mama Elephant stamp set The Dog’s Woof – it’s so cute. I stamped this onto white card and coloured it in using Promarkers.

I had to trim this down to fit the card and the shape, and as I’d decided to use dark cardstock for the actual card, I didn’t like the white background of the picture so coloured this in too:-

I used Lawn Fawn cardstock in Storm for the card base. I cut three strips out of a teal cardstock I have from Papermill Direct and used stuck this onto the card with double-sided tape. I attached the picture onto the card using foam tape. Finally I die cut the ‘hello’ sentiment and glued this onto the bottom of the card.

I didn’t want to add anything else because I think the picture is busy enough!

The stuff I used to make this card is as follows:-

  • The Dog’s Woof stamp from Mama Elephant
  • Hello die from Hero Arts
  • Promarkers in Cool Greys 1,2,3,4 and 5; Saffron, Spice, Ginger, Putty, Almond, Pastel Beige, Oatmeal, Cocoa, Shale, Umber, Antique Pink, Petrol Blue, Black, Gold, French Navy and Berry Red
  • Storm cardstock from Lawn Fawn
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • Teal card from Papermill Direct
