I feel like I’ve been a bit slack lately doing card challenges so I’m aiming this week to get at least 3 done so here’s the first…
This week’s challenge from CASology uses the keyword “CRUNCH.” I had a look through my stash and at first I was thinking ‘crunching leaves or snow’ but then decided that since it’s almost Spring, I’m not having anything autumnal or wintry! I then found my Lawn Fawn Smart Cookie stamp set and figured that covers crunch, amIright?
So I made a graduation card using all the stamps in the set!
I used a black ‘leatheresque’ piece of card for the background and stamped the scroll all over it using clear embossing ink, I then heat embossed the scrolls with white embossing powder. I stuck this onto the plain white cardstock.
For the centrepiece, I stamped the cookie and graduation hat on some white card and coloured them in using Promarkers. I then hand-cut them out and glued the hat onto the cookie. I then stamped the little face onto the cookie.
For the sentiment, I used clear ink on the same black card I used for the background and again I heat embossed it with white powder. I thought this would be more visible if I just mounted it on a neon orange piece of card before sticking the whole thing onto the card using 3D foam squares.
I also used 3D foam squares to stick on the cookie graduate but again wanted to make it stand out more so used a mini polaroid frame die on the orange neon card and gave it a white background so it’s like a graduation photo.
Since this was pretty quick to make I think it fits the ‘clean & simple’ challenge and along with the cookie hopefully this falls under the ‘crunch’!
