My mum’s asked me to make some cards for a few birthdays so I’ve used a couple of online challenges for inspiration. This is the second card I’ve done for her recently and wanted to make it different to the last one so as not to be predictable!
The theme on both of these is dots.
I used cream-coloured cardstock and cut out a layer of polka-dotted paper which I then stuck some spotted ribbon to the side of. I then decided it needed another layer so cut a smaller square using some pearlescent paper which I used an embossing folder on.
I cut the sentiment out of black to make it stand out. I was initially going to do some layered flowers but remembered I’d bought a small pinwheel die which I was yet to use so gave that a go and I have to say I actually love the pinwheel die (simple things for simple minds!) I fastened them together with a metallic brad and stuck them on with mini 3D foam squares.
Finally I added a couple of gems and some buttons (in corresponding colours to the pinwheels) and I was done!
My mum loved the card so I was happy with how it ended up 🙂
