Card Making

Card Challenge – Inkspirational #126

The Inkspirational blog challenge this week is a word prompt challenge. The word is “flutter”.

I think ‘flutter’ I think butterflies so I’ve done a simple card with a butterfly border die:-

I used kraft cardstock as my base and rounded off the corners. I then used a border die containing butterflies and cut this out three times on some neon card. I always do things in odd numbers – apparently the eye favours odd numbers rather than even so I stick to this rule!

I cut out a couple more copies of this die and trimmed off the butterflies as I wanted to make some of the butterflies different colours.  I used some bright memento dew drop inks to colour three extra butterflies. and stuck them over the top of the existing dies.

I then used some alphabet stamps for ‘MUM’ and used some fluorescent violet embossing powder to make this stand out on the kraft paper. I ended up also going round this with a black marker just to make it ‘pop’ a bit more.

I then added some neon polka dot ribbon in the bottom corner and stamped a piece of white card using a honeycomb stencil and memento ink. I then stamped the sentiment ‘Happy Mothers Day’ on top of this and cut out a circle. I topped this with glossy accents and stuck on top of the ribbon.

All in all this turned out a nice modern and bright card.

Hope you like!

  1. Oooooh….the neons against the kraft just glow!!! Great idea. That’s a beautiful butterfly border and I love how you changed up the butterflies to add extra color and interest and repeated the piece. Really pretty and fun card!!
