This challenge didn’t take me too long so I managed to get it done while I had 10 spare minutes.
The latest challenge from CASology gives ‘CUT’ as the inspiration. I decided to cut out the sentiment and do this several times to make a layered cut as this is something I do a lot and I think it always makes an impact.
To keep it simple, I used a rough watercolour background using an acrylic block, some spectrum aqua markers and some water. I didn’t use watercolour cardstock or paper – I just did this directly onto plain card. and let the colours drip around. I used pinks, purples and reds.
For my layered sentiment I used a scrap piece of a watercolour background I used for a different card in blues and greens which I thought would contrast nicely with the pinky-reds. This was the top of the sentiment – I used plain card scraps for the layers underneath and just stuck them altogether with PVA glue.
Once this was dry I then used a small heart stamp and put this onto the watercolour using clear emboss ink. I then sprinkled with white embossing powder and used my heat tool.
I finally added a few rhinestones to finish it off.
