My second challenge of the week is on CASology and the theme is ‘FOREST’
The guidelines on this site are to keep the card simple and uncluttered, limited layers and embellishments and quick & easy to recreate.
So I gave this a bash despite not having hardly anything in my stash ‘foresty’ that wasn’t Christmas-related. I think I managed to fit the criteria…
So I did do a whole other design with watercolours but decided once I’d finished that it wasn’t very ‘me’ so scrapped that. I decided to use a modern ‘tree’ stamp and rather than colour all of the trees in (which I figured would look like a picture done by an 8-year-old) I just did some paper piecing and coloured only one tree. I added a couple of green buttons, mainly because my ink smudged there (!) but also it adds a bit of something else to the plain card. I didn’t see this as a ‘happy birthday’ or ‘congratulations’ card so figured a generic ‘hello, how are you’ would suffice! I then gave the top and bottom a little border using a stencil and a sharpie.
