I’ve had a bit of a slow day today – not been feeling too good so didn’t get much chance to do any crafting until late so haven’t had a chance to take photos yet. So I’m posting a card I made the other day.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m done with the reds, greens & golds of Christmas! So I’ve been making some brighter cards – I’m just getting into the realms of Springtime cards but before that I thought I’d go for a rainbow coloured effect. I love how really bright colours look on a black background so I’ve made a couple of cards with that in mind.
First I made a rainbow effect on a piece of think white card using distress inks. I used this with my die which was a filigree-style butterfly circle and stuck this to a black card square which I then put onto my kraft cardstock.
I made two of these cards so kept the butterfly from each die cut and swapped them over so they wouldn’t blend in easily and decided to have the wings of each butterfly coming off the page.
A couple of flowers were cut out of my inked rainbow paper and stuck onto the bottom corners with foam squares as I didn’t wanted them to stand out and then I just used a flower punch to make some tiny flowers from the rainbow paper scraps.
I cut out my sentiment from coloured card. I decided that I didn’t want to card to look so square so used a rounded corner punch for the corners; I love my corner punch – I just prefer this shape rather than square edges.
Anyway I think it looks quite good!
